Accessible AI Adoption: Why I Built Being Human In Your Loop

Artificial Intelligence is now everywhere, and how people feel about it tends to sit somewhere between it being the greatest innovation and productivity tool of our generation, and an existential threat to humanity and our environment.

Two things can be true at the same time, even if they feel like polar opposites.

In my coaching, I often invite people to hold that tension a little longer rather than rushing to certainty. It can feel easier to form a strong opinion, but when we do this too quickly, what might we miss?

Sometimes the greatest value lies in being willing to explore complexity with curiosity rather than certainty. That is how I feel about AI.

As a disabled entrepreneur, I think of AI as an assistive technology. It helps me work around barriers created by my disability, capturing my best quality of thinking, whilst reducing physical load and cognitive friction.

I can now process more information, reflect more deeply and assess opportunities more quickly. It has enabled me to put myself forward for opportunities that I might otherwise have had to let pass by because I simply didn't have the capacity.

This doesn't mean I am unaware of the challenges surrounding AI. Used without discernment, AI can take us in completely the wrong direction. It can encourage us to chase more opportunities or launch more projects than our health can realistically sustain. It can tempt us to outsource our judgement instead of strengthening it, and mindless use raises sustainability questions too.

That is why I have been intentional about ensuring AI never replaces my judgement, creativity or expertise. One of my biggest surprises as an early adopter was discovering that, used intentionally and intelligently, it could actually help me develop those very same qualities.

I can ask AI to challenge my thinking, expose me to different perspectives and help me interrogate my own assumptions, but I am always careful to challenge it in return. Rather than replacing my expertise, it has become a tool that helps me continue developing it.

AI use that enhances our unique talents, judgement and potential can be a game-changer. That is why I developed Accessible AI Adoption: Being Human In Your Loop, a person-centred group coaching programme created specifically for disabled entrepreneurs.

It helps people to explore if, when and how AI can best serve them and the ambitions they have for their business, whilst keeping their innate and unique humanness central to its use - that is Being Human In Your Loop.

Through critical, conscious decision-making, you will develop your own personalised AI strategy alongside others asking themselves the same big questions. Even if you leave deciding AI isn’t for you, you’ll better understand how you make your best decisions about the way you work.

I would love you to join me on the programme, more details can be found in this document.

If it resonates, drop me an email and let’s talk AI and Group Coaching!
